This privacy policy covers Amni-Haven, the native Android client for the Haven chat platform created by ANCSemi.
Amni-Haven is a mobile client application published by Amni-Scient ("we", "us", "our"). The Haven server software is a separate project maintained by ANCSemi under the MIT-NC license. This policy covers only the mobile application and its data handling — server-side data is governed by the operator of the Haven server you connect to.
Haven is an open-source (MIT-NC) self-hosted chat server created by ANCSemi. Amni-Haven is the official Android client that connects to Haven servers. We do not develop, operate, or control any Haven servers. For the Haven platform's own policies, see the Haven GitHub repository.
Amni-Haven itself does not collect personal data. However, because this is a chat client that connects to external servers, data is necessarily transmitted during normal operation:
We (Amni-Scient) do not receive, store, or have access to any of this data. All communication occurs between your device and the server you choose.
The free version displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google's AdMob SDK may collect and process the following data as described in Google's Privacy Policy:
We do not have access to this data. Premium subscribers who remove ads will not have AdMob data collection active.
Amni-Haven uses FCM for push notifications. FCM tokens are generated by Google's services on your device and shared with your chosen Haven server for push delivery. We do not receive, store, or process FCM tokens. See Firebase Privacy.
Premium subscription purchases are handled by Google Play's billing system. Payment information is managed by Google and is never visible to or collected by us.
Voice and video calls use WebRTC for peer-to-peer connections. Call signaling passes through the Haven server you are connected to. Media streams are peer-to-peer (DTLS encrypted) where network topology permits, or relayed through TURN servers configured by your server operator.
Your server operator controls server-side data. Messages, account data, uploaded files, and chat history are stored on the Haven server you connect to. Amni-Scient does not operate Haven servers and has no access to this data. Contact your server administrator for server-side data policies, retention, and deletion requests.
Amni-Haven supports TLS/SSL connections to Haven servers, including self-signed certificate trust for private deployments. JWT authentication tokens are stored in the application's private storage, inaccessible to other applications under Android's sandboxing model. WebRTC voice and video calls establish peer-to-peer connections with DTLS encryption where network topology permits. All authentication credentials are stored locally and never transmitted to Amni-Scient.
Amni-Haven is not directed at children under the age of 18. Per Haven's MIT-NC license, users must be at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction.
For data stored on the Haven server you connect to, contact your server administrator. To stop AdMob data collection, you may: (a) subscribe to premium to disable ads, (b) reset your Android Advertising ID, or (c) opt out of personalized ads in device settings.
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the application or applicable laws. The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly.
